Honest about the power of crystals
There is no peer-reviewed research showing that crystals have a healing effect beyond placebo. In a study at Goldsmiths, University of London, 80 volunteers meditated with either real quartz or an identical-looking imitation. Many reported the typical “crystal effects” whichever stone they held.
That does not make a crystal ritual worthless. A ritual gives you calm, attention and time with yourself, and a beautiful stone can be a strong reminder of what you wish for. Use crystals that way, and never instead of a doctor or treatment.

How to care for your crystals
- MoonlightLeave your crystals on the windowsill overnight at the full moon. Safe for every stone here.
- Incense and herbsPass the stone through the smoke of juniper, rosemary or other incense.
- SoundStrike a singing bowl or a bell next to the crystals.
- WaterQuartz tolerates water. Moonstone and tourmaline should only be wiped with a damp cloth.
- SunAmethyst and some rose quartz can fade in strong light over time.
