Lunhet

Lunhet a home with the hearth at its heart

Lunhet is our own Nordic concept for the home, inspired by old farmhouse rooms, the seasons and the longing for calm. It is in development, and you can join from the start.

What is lunhet?

“Lunt” is an old Norwegian word for a place that is warm and sheltered from the weather. Lunhet is the feeling of coming in from the cold to a home that welcomes you.

In old Norwegian farmhouses the hearth was the centre: warmth, food, light and stories gathered there. Lunhet brings that idea into modern homes. The hearth can be a fireplace, a kitchen table or a candle lit every evening.

The four directions

Around the hearth, lunhet builds on four directions, each linked to a season and a mood. You can use them room by room, or as a rhythm through the year.

Experience

North · winter

Rest and shelter. Wool, sheepskin, soft light and a place to retreat.

Experience

East · spring

Light and new beginnings. Windows that let in the morning sun, seedlings on the sill.

Experience

South · summer

Life and togetherness. Open surfaces, room for guests, flowers from the garden.

Experience

West · autumn

Gratitude and stores. Jars of dried herbs, books, things that have been passed down.

Experience

Materials and colours

Lunhet uses natural materials such as wood, wool, linen, stone and clay, and a calm palette taken from Nordic nature: moss, mountain, heather, sea and birch bark. We prefer things that have been used before, made locally or are good enough to pass down.

Knowledge

Honestly

Lunhet is our own idea, not an ancient teaching and not a science. We do not promise that your furniture will change your life. But a home that feels good to be in is worth caring for.
